TransformSC Bus Tour showcases innovative schools
Business leaders, policymakers and community leaders from across South Carolina joined TransformSC on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, for its second annual Bus Tour.
Attendees spent the day touring three of TransformSC’s schools in the Upstate: Monarch Elementary School, Carolina High School and Meeting Street Academy – Spartanburg. During each visit, visitors spent time exploring classrooms, engaging with students and talking with educators. Attendees were able to see innovation in action and see the positive effects community involvement can have on transforming schools and education. Parents, local community members and others met attendees at each stop and discussed the successes and struggles of transforming education for their children.
Each school was honored with a plaque commemorating their involvement with the 2017 Bus Tour. Photos from the day’s visits can be viewed on Facebook.
