Announcements and updates from the TransformSC initiative

Dear TRSC Network Partners and Friends,

I hope that you are happy and healthy as we kick-off 2022. It’s hard to believe we are in February already! I wanted to provide some exciting updates from our team.

Roadtrip Nation kicks off this spring, in partnership with SC Competes and SC Department of Commerce. We are excited to meet our three road trippers, and see how their journey goes as they interview leaders across the Palmetto State. Their road trip will be aired as a documentary on public television this summer.

In addition to the in-person trip, Roadtrip Nation has launched the South Carolina Share Your Road website. Ever wish you could go back in time and give your younger self some pointers about life and careers? Here’s your chance to give young people the advice and insights you wish you’d heard! Read more about Roadtrip Nation and Share Your Road below!

At our schools’ request, TransformSC is currently exploring new ways to demonstrate and catalog progress on additional parts of the ‘Profile of the SC Graduate’. We have commissioned two studies: one with the worldwide education community and one with the global business community on ways to better demonstrate growth on “soft” or “professional” skills. Stay tuned for more details and the results to follow!

As a reminder you can still download the TransformSC Road To Success – our thorough review of the progress TransformSC has made since its launch in 2013 and our next steps moving into 2022 and beyond. You can click here to download  the Road to Success summary and see what we’ve accomplished through 5 major aspects of the Transform mission – including recognitions, business connections, and study highlights.

2022 is shaping up to be a busy road for TransformSC, and I look forward to sharing it with you all!

Respectfully,
Peggy Torrey,
Director, TransformSC

RoadTrip Nation Bus Tour 2022

It started in 2001 with one simple question: What do you want to do with your life?

Over the last twenty years, Roadtrip Nation has logged over 500k miles across the country with its green bus, and now they are partnering with SC Competes and SC Department of Commerce to come to South Carolina.

Three South Carolinians, ages 18-24, will board the bus this spring. They will travel throughout the state, interviewing leaders from diverse background and across multiple industry sectors. We will keep you updated on their progress, and their journey will culminate in a documentary airing on PBS.

Share Your Road
