Stieritz presents on education at Alaska event

amsCouncil President and CEO Ann Marie Stieritz participated in a community convening on Nov. 9, 2016, at “The Future of Learning: Preparing Students with 21st Century Skills,” hosted by Alaska: Education Matters, Inc., in Anchorage. Stieritz participated in two panel discussions and was available for attendees throughout the day.  Other panelists included Dr. Deena Paramo, superintendent of Anchorage School District, Fred Bramante, president of the National Center for Competency-Based Progression,and Steve Atwater, interim dean of the University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Education and former superintendent of Kenai Borough and Lake and Penn School Districts.

Stieritz spoke about the Council’s TransformSC initiative, implementation of innovative practices in education, the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate, and building business and industry engagement to improve learning outcomes.
