Carolinas Recycling Association to form Business and Industry Recycling Council
South Carolina’s recycling industry cluster, formerly known as RecyclonomicsSC, is forming a new, two-state council with Carolinas Recycling Association. The new group will be called the CRA Business and Industry Recycling Council.
The formation of the new Council will be celebrated at the CRA Annual Conference March 21-24, 2016 in Wilmington, North Carolina. The group will also use the gathering of stakeholders to conduct planning, governance, and event scheduling for the Council.
“The CRA Business and Industry Recycling Council will continue the nearly 10 years of fine work initiated through RecyclonomicsSC while being a timely way to grow our collective positive impacts within the Recycling marketplace, improve existing or imminent limitations, share our message(s) to larger audiences of clients and stakeholders while expanding important networking opportunities,” said CRA in an emailed statement.
According to an economic impact study commissioned published by the SC Council on Competitiveness in 2014, the recycling industry cluster has an economic impact of $13 billion on South Carolina’s economy, and there are over 22,000 jobs in South Carolina attributable to the recycling industry.
