Insurance Technology Services cluster graduates second class of Leadership Insurance

On October 21, iTs|SC’s second class of Leadership Insurance participants presented their capstone project to a room full of Leadership Insurance alumni, instructors and partners, and iTs|SC Board Members at the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Tower Auditorium.

The class project, DASH (Downtown Area Self-Guided Hike) was a continuation of a project first conceptualized by the Leadership Insurance Class of 2014. The tool, which will be a health and wellness app targeted at visitors of Columbia, will help encourage healthy activity with the added bonus of showcasing some of downtown Columbia’s attractions.

After the presentation, participants were presented with certificates of completion during the graduation ceremony. A celebratory luncheon followed.

iTs|SC’s Leadership Insurance Class of 2015 includes Amir Abdullah, Colonial Life; Daniel Claas, BlueCross BlueShield of SC; Jason Lockhart, MGC Insurance Defense; Niki Medlin, Seibels; Beth Ruffin, Colonial Life; Uma Varanasi, BlueCross BlueShield of SC; and Kaitlyn Wessinger, Seibels. The program is iTs|SC’s flagship leadership and workforce development program designed to educate, inspire, integrate and build the local insurance technology and services leaders of tomorrow.
