Nearly 50 people representing 20 aerospace firms attended a networking event on January 30th organized by the SC Council on Competitiveness and hosted by the Southeastern Institute for Manufacturing Technology (SiMT) in Florence.
The series of quarterly networking events is one of many activities implemented by the SC Council on Competitiveness in partnership with the SC Department of Commerce to develop South Carolina’s aerospace cluster. The events are designed to connect aerospace firms with one another and with assets in the state that benefit the industry.
The January event included lunch, an update by the USC McNAIR Center for Aerospace Innovation and Research and a tour of SiMT’s machining center, additive manufacturing center, 3-D interactive center, conference center and business incubator.
The next event is scheduled for April 29th in Charleston. For more information, contact Director of Aerospace Initiatives Deborah Cameron at firstname.lastname@example.org.
