Council President Presents on SC Industry Clusters at IEDC 2015 Economic Future Forum
Ann Marie Stieritz, president & CEO of the SC Council on Competitiveness, participated in a panel discussion entitled Better Together: Strength in Coopetition at the International Economic Development Council’s Economic Future Forum on June 7 in Madison, Wisconsin. Other panelists included Connie Loden, senior project manager for New North, Inc., and Jeff Marcell, senior partner for TIP strategies.
Stieritz’s presentation focused on steps South Carolina has taken to create an ecosystem that encourages collaboration among companies — “coopetition.” She highlighted activities within South Carolina’s aerospace cluster (SCAerospace), life sciences cluster (SCBIO) and the insurance technology and services cluster (iTs|SC) as strong examples of collaboration within industry clusters. Stieritz also pointed to South Carolina’s apprenticeship program and regional scorecards as programs that support a collaborative approach to economic development. Click here for the presentation>>
