The South Carolina Engineering Cluster was formed to:

• Assess needs and define requirements for engineering expertise
• Connect with educational institutions to design and implement programs to fit technical needs
• Connect with engineering companies that have the skills and experience to develop the designs required
• Connect with engineering companies that can fabricate and build the components for new designs

The cluster also links students to engineering careers through a partnership with the South Carolina Department of Education and the University of South Carolina Department of Engineering on Project Lead the Way. Project Lead The Way (PLTW) prepares students to be the most innovative and productive leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and to make meaningful, pioneering contributions to the world.
